Dr. Yonghyun (John) Kim
- Associate Professor
Areas of Research
- Systems biology
- Ph.D., Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, 2008
- B.S., Chemical Engineering, Lafayette College, 2002
- B.A., Biochemistry, Lafayette College, 2002
Dr. Kim’s research interests are in systems biology, oncology, and bioprocessing. In particular, his current research focuses on developing a novel expansion system of cancer stem cells (CSCs) in order to provide a more relevant resource for translational medicine and drug development. Using engineering principles and cutting-edge analytical tools, Dr. Kim’s laboratory aims to become a bridge-builder of engineers, oncologists, clinicians, and pharmaceutical developers in the fight against cancer.
